Prayer is spiritual power. Prayer is a mighty source of power for the believer. Prayer opens a dialog, a TWO way conversation, with us talking to God and God talking to us. The bible tells us that we should ALWAYS PRAY and not faint (Luke 18:1). Each day, we should engage in conversations with God. This is our prayer purpose. God hears us when we pray according to His will, which is the Word of God (1 John 5:14-15). The more we read and meditate upon scriptures, the better we become at hearing and recognizing the Voice of God.
We pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus. We use the bible as a guide to direct us in prayer. As we pray in agreement with God’s Word, our lives and beliefs will align with God’s promises (in His Word) and we will receive what we ask for.
Key components of our prayers are: agreement with God’s Word and will for our life and to not have unforgiveness in our hearts. Unforgiveness will severely limit our prayer effectiveness.
Following the leading of The Holy Spirit also is a great help in our prayers. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to pray in other tongues (1 Corinthians 14:14). Yielding to the Holy Spirit allows us to pray about things that we don’t understand but the Holy Spirit does. Having the ability to talk to the Creator of the universe at any time, is a tremendous privilege and benefit that we should take full advantage of.
